We had the most amazing day here at Phoenix St. Peter Academy on Thursday celebrating the Queen's 70th Jubilee. The children, staff and special guests from the local community enjoyed a tea-party style lunch on the meadow while listening to fifties style music.
The younger children took part in a sack race while the older children competed in a game of 'Tug of War'
Children from Thrive group made crowns for people to wear and flags for waving.
Many congratulations to Her Majesty from all the staff and children at Phoenix!
As part of their learning this half-term Woodpecker Class have been talking about how to look after our planet. To help the environment they decided that they would like to go on a 'beach clean-up'.
On Tuesday they each received an 'Eco-Warrior' Certificate for their amazing efforts!
Well done to all of our pupils in Woodpecker Class for helping to keep our beach and planet clean.
On Tuesday 10th May we took part in the National Literacy Trust campaign, Take 10 to Read which included a fun session with those cheeky chaps, Ant and Dec. Big thanks to Get Suffolk Reading for their support and resources for the event. https://www.facebook.com/GetSuffolkReading

400 engaging new books.
A Yoto Player with 28 story cards for the children to listen and engage with.
Brand-new high-quality seating.
Functional RWI and intervention spaces with resource drawers.
A 'Spotlight' table... Authors will usually be celebrated on this table. The spotlight table is currently showcasing the Queen's Jubilee for our Teachers to read with their class next week.

All of the children will be visiting the library next week with their Class Teachers, to select a new book for half term.
