Last week, Y3 and Y4 visited The School Farm and Country Fair at Trinity Park in Ipswich. Everyone had such a lovely day watching the gun dog and sheep dog displays, petting a variety of farm animals, tasting some home-grown local fruit and fruit juices and watching the very entertaining sheep show, which featured a live demonstration of sheep shearing and an unbelievable dance routine at the end from the sheep themselves! The children even got to take a piece of the wool home with them!
On the Friday before half-term pupils were asked to come into school wearing yellow and blue coloured clothes to show their support for the people of Ukraine.
In addition to this we held a special assembly in which one of our Y6 pupils spoke about the conflict and wore a traditional shawl.
All pupils came into assembly holding a 'candle of hope' and wrote messages of love and support on blue and yellow card which were laid on the hall floor.
All donations received for this non-uniform day will go towards helping and supporting the people of the Ukraine.
The staff and pupils were super excited to receive a visit from Sir Steve Lancashire yesterday and what a huge success it was!
From space hopper races, tug of war, high tea and much, much more, it was a truly memorable day.
The pupil librarians have opened our 400 brand new books for the library. Here are a few of their favourites. We can't wait to add these to the reopening of our library. A huge thank you to @chase_uk, @literacy_trust and @puffinbooks for your support. #proudtobephoenix #ChaseRewardingFutures
Here at Phoenix St Peter Academy we are bursting with pride at the results of the recent Dodge Ball Tournament that our pupils competed in.
Pupils in Key Stage 1 finished in third place, competing in their first ever tournament! Wow!
Upper Key Stage 2 finished in second place in their group. Amazing!
Lower Key Stage 2 finished in joint first place in their group. Superb!
This really is testament to the children's hard work and dedication. Well done to everyone!
